Xiana Yago, screenwriter, director and producer
Xiana Yago was born in 1984 in Valencia (Spain), graduated in medicine in Barcelona and in 2009 moved to Berlin, where she worked as assistant director in several feature films. In 2011 she finished her Master’s Degree in Screenwriting for Film and TV at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
In 2012 Xiana moved to Ecuador and together with the Ecuadorian director Andrés Ramírez co-wrote the Ecuadorian-Bolivian documentary “Ukamau y ké” (2017). Later on, she produced and directed her first documentary feature film “Las Mujeres Deciden” (2017), which won a grant for documentary production (2013) and distribution (2016) from the National Film Council of Ecuador.
“Las Mujeres Deciden” has received the award for Best Documentary at the Telling Tales Festival in Manchester and the Nevada Women Film Festival in Las Vegas. Best Editing Award at the Wales International Documentary Festival, the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Amnesty International Festival and the “Ojo Loco” Iberoamerican Film Festival in Grenoble/France.
Martin Breuer, executive producer
Martin was born in 1988 in Germany and studied architecture at the Bauhaus-University Weimar. After graduation he decided to follow his entrepreneurial mindset and co-founded two tech startups. Although new to the film industry he can leverage his experiences in business development, project management, marketing and sales to get Salir into the right trajectory.
